Please note that Bristol Twestival Local will now take place at Metropolis, 135-137 Cheltenham Road, Bristol, BS6 5RR
Showing records from 6 to 10 of 23
As well as our headlining act, Dub Mafia, we’ve managed to secure some pretty cool support acts too. It comes in the shape of collaboration from local artists: some members of the band collectively known as Temple Circus along with beatboxers Minimus and Pieman, who some Twestivalers may remember from our very first event in 2009. Here’s a quick reminder (sorry about the sketchy camera work!):
James Ainsworth, community manager at Alterian, has used the company's SM2 social media monitoring solution, to compile these interesting stats showing how the buzz about Bristol Twestival has grown since our first event in 2009. To be part of the 2011 buzz, buy your ticket now!
Due to technical issues related to our bands we have unfortunately had to change our venue for Bristol Twestival Local. It will now take place at Metropolis, 135-137 Cheltenham Road, Bristol, BS6 5RR.
We would like to say a huge thankyou to the team at Metropolis for stepping in at such short notice. It is excellent venue and we're sure it'll still be a fantastic event. Do make sure you follow Metropolis on Twitter.
We would also like to thank Slug & Lettuce Bristol for being so kind about us cancelling at such short notice.
Everything else will run as planned with the event starting at 7.30pm.
If you haven't yet bought a ticket you can do so here.
The Rainbow Centre for Children helps families deal with the pain, grief, anger and sadness caused by the death or suffering of a child or parent.
Families turn to the Centre not just because someone has died from an illness but also as a result of road traffic accidents, suicide or murder.
The charity offers art, play or music therapy to children as these non-verbal therapies are a valuable means of expressing emotions when words simply can’t be found. Counselling is provided to older children and adults while homoeopathy is available for the whole family to help relieve the side effects of conventional medicine, or the physical symptoms of grief.
It costs £270,000 to run the Centre for a year, a figure which is entirely dependent on donations.
That’s where you come in.
Everything you give to Bristol Twestival, whether it’s through buying a ticket to the event, donating via Just Giving or purchasing a raffle ticket, will go directly to the Centre and help it continue its vital work.
When supporting charitable causes it’s good to know exactly where your money goes so here are some examples of what your generosity will pay for:
