Events like the Bristol Twestival couldn’t take place without the kind generosity of companies willing to support such a good cause. With that in mind, we’re delighted to announce our lead sponsor.

One of the key aims of our planning is to celebrate everything that’s good about Bristol - and that’s quite a big list! To do that, we’re keen to get as many of the city’s businesses involved so the fact that our main supporter is one that this year celebrates 13 years in what’s affectionately known as Brizzle is definitely something to celebrate.

Sift was established in Bristol in 1996 by current CEO Ben Heald. The company is all about online and has been since day one so the fact it’s still around today is a testament to Sift’s processes and staff.

It could be said that Sift was doing the Web 2.0 thing long before the term was first coined. The websites and internet tools the company creates are all about community - the ethos of Twitter - and Sift’s technology and online expertise is helping organisations including the NHS, The Kennel Club, British Mensa, VSO and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.

Through its publishing division Sift Media, the business boasts AccountingWEB.co.uk, one of the largest online communities of accountants with 100,000 members as well as websites for entrepreneurs, HR professionals, customer management professionals and trainers.

And that’s not all! The company’s other subsidiary PracticeWEB provides online solutions for accounting firms.
